Watermelon hearts

One day I brunched on watermelon. The yellow variety is not common in Thailand so when I found some in the supermarket, I checked out a huge slice. And while I was at it, I looked around for mention of the fruit from different media; sources, origins, background. Guess my favorite would be no. 1. What's yours? If you know anything else about them, it would be lovely to hear that.

  4. Not so fond of the yellow variety. The only quote I recognized is the one by Twain. Your post reminded me of an old country song my parents used to listen to: Old Dogs, Children, and Watermelon Wine.

  7. My personal favorite is the Benigni quote. Then again, I adore him, so it's only natural. Heh.

  8. I don't think I knew watermelon came in another color. I've heard that they are making them square-shaped now in places so they will fit in boxes, which just seems really wrong to me.
