One day I brunched on watermelon. The yellow variety is not common in
Thailand so when I found some in the supermarket, I checked out a huge
slice. And while I was at it, I looked around for mention of the fruit from different media; sources, origins, background. Guess my favorite would be no. 1. What's yours? If you know anything else about them, it would be lovely to hear that.

Wonderful shot. I prefer yellow watermelon too.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried yellow watermelon.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen yellow watermelon before. But I do love the pink one. Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteNot so fond of the yellow variety. The only quote I recognized is the one by Twain. Your post reminded me of an old country song my parents used to listen to: Old Dogs, Children, and Watermelon Wine.

I read watermelon and immediately thought of Brautigan. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAlso loved the J Child quote.
My personal favorite is the Benigni quote. Then again, I adore him, so it's only natural. Heh.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I knew watermelon came in another color. I've heard that they are making them square-shaped now in places so they will fit in boxes, which just seems really wrong to me.
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that! I didn't know watermelon came in yellow . . . it is very pretty and I'm sure it tastes great, too! Thanks for sharing and for linking up to the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop at Katherine's Corner. See you next week! Nina @ mamas*little*treasures
